Continental: Gavin Lee will be leaving the US tour in order to return to the Broadway
production, reuniting him with Laura Michelle Kelly (huzzah, original Mary and Bert, together
again). Gavin's final performance in the US tour will be 15 August, and his first
performance back on Broadway will be on 24 August. In effect, Gavin is exchanging roles with
Nicolas Dromard, who recently joined the Broadway production as Bert on 16 July.

Ashley Brown plays her last performance as Mary in the US tour tonight. When the production moves to
Tempe, Arizona, the cast will have a bunch of new additions: Caroline Sheen (the original UK tour Mary) as
Mary, Laird Mackintossh as George Banks, Blythe Wilson as Winifred Banks, Rachel Izen as Mrs Brill and
Dennis Moench as Robertson Ay.

On the 22nd of January, Dick Van Dyke very awesomely made a one-night cameo in the US tour show
at the Ahmanson Theatre in LA. He reprised his role as Mr. Dawes Sr. from the film, a role that's not
actually in the stage musical but I'm sure instantly recognisable to the audience that night. Articles and

Connelli is Miss Andrew, Sally-Anne Upton is Mrs. Brill and Christopher Rickerby is Robertson Ay.
(Holy moly that's a lot of talented people.) However, Mary Poppins herself has still not been
cast.

This is a bit of delayed news, but there's an article HERE
on the "A Spoonful of Stiles and Drewe" concert (which was held at the end of last
year) with a picture of Lisa O'Hare holding the Mary Poppins measuring tape as she
starts to sing a special version of "Practically Perfect", in which Scarlett Strallen
and Caroline Sheen join her. This version of the song is available in the
concert CD.

Cast change on Broadway! Scarlett Strallen and Adam Fiorentino make their
Broadway debuts today in the lead roles of Mary Poppins and Bert respectively.
Jessica Sheridan has also taken over as Miss Lark.
6th October 2008:
Ashley and Gavin have performed their last show at the New Amsterdam Theatre,
marking the end of their run in the Broadway production. They're now on a break before
heading on for the US national tour.
The exact dates for the first three venues of the US tour have also been announced:
Cadillac Palace Theatre, Chicago (11 Mar 2009 to 17 May 2009), The State Theatre,
Cleveland (17 Jul 2009 to 9 Aug 2009) and Fox Theatre, St. Louis (13 Aug 2009 to 30
Aug 2009).

had its world premier.

14th of October 2006.

for the full original London cast to perform together on stage.
